If you love historical fiction, you might enjoy a FREE online event on the evening of Wednesday the 14th April.
At 7.30 pm, Alison Weir will be discussing the fifth novel in her Six Tudor Queens series, Katherine Howard: The Tainted Queen. Alison, together with specialists at the National Archives, will be shedding light on Henry's "rose without a thorn" - his fifth wife and teenage bride.
I shall definitely be watching.
Katherine was far from blameless, but her family must have known that marrying a vivacious and flighty seventeen-year-old to a king of forty-nine, with a vicious temper and a frequently painful ulcerous leg, was unlikely to end well.
It should prove a fascinating evening.
